Protein sandwich with tofu slice

With tofu you can do so much more than you’d think. This is a crispy baked tofu version for a sandwich. Super surprising and very tasty!

This is what you need

For the base:
Tofu200 g
Coconut oil (deodorised)2 tbsp
Protein bread4 slices
Spinachlittle hand
Tomato1
Gherkins sweet & sour4Hummus original4 tbsp
For the marinade:
Garlic2 cloves
Shiro miso1 tbspGenmai miso1 tbsp

This is how you make it

  1. Thoroughly squeeze out the tofu and pat dry with a clean dish towel.
  2. Cut into 4 thin slices (approx. 0.5 cm thick).
  3. Press the garlic and mix with the rest of the ingredients for the sauce.
  4. Let the tofu marinate (the longer you wait, the better the flavour will be).
  5. Put a heaping tablespoon of coconut oil in a frying pan and fry 2 slices of tofu in for about 5 minutes until golden brown. Repeat with the other 2 slices.
  6. Cut the tomato into slices.
  7. Serve the bread with some spinach, tomato, the tofu slice, pickles and spread some hummus on top.
  8. Cut in half and eat it like a sandwich burger.

  • Try the hummus sun dried tomato as well.
