Granola bites with white almond paste

Create your ideal snack with only 5 products and no more than 10 minutes! These little snack cubes are packed with nuts. Great for on the road, or to give the children to school. Prefer bars instead of cubes? Then use a standard cake tin instead of a square tray, make the layer a little thinner, put a strip of parchment paper and a string around it after cutting.

This is how you make it

  1. Heat the oven to 160°C.
  2. Spread the oatmeal on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Roast this for 10 minutes until light brown. Toss from time to time.
  3. Grind the dates in the food processor into a smooth ball. Put this in a large bowl.
  4. Add the almond paste and maple syrup and stir to combine.
  5. Crush the nuts in the food processor with a short pulse. You can leave the nuts as big or small as you want. Mix the nuts with the date mass.
  6. Cover a 12x12 square tray with baking paper and put the mixture in it. Press well, put it in the freezer for 30 minutes and then cut into cubes or strips.
